National Tour: Consulting and Engaging Locals across Canada

CAPE’s President, Greg Phillips is touring Canada in person this spring to connect with Locals across the country, hosting hybrid meetings that follow public health guidelines. The meetings are meant to provide Locals with updates on key issues and more broadly, to hear from them and to better understand their needs.

Mental Health Week — May 2 – 8

Mental Health Week is a time to reflect on our own mental well-being, but also a time to remember to listen and support others, and to talk openly and freely about mental illness without judgment or stigma.

Update on Code 699 — arbitration decision

Following policy grievances filed by the Public Service Alliance of Canada against the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS), an arbitration board ruled that the TBS could not force employees to exhaust all their other leave options before using the Code 699 leave for COVID-19-related reasons.

National Volunteer Week 2022

National Volunteer Week is about celebrating and expressing gratitude to all those who give their personal time towards supporting an important cause, be it kids’ sports teams, neighbourhood groups, vulnerable communities, refugees settling in our country or other causes. Volunteering is empathy in action, and we have proven to have plenty of it!

Negotiations are moving forward!

Your bargaining team met with the Employer’s team on April 19, 20 and 21. The parties reached agreement on a few issues. They also continued to submit their respective proposals. We are now moving on to more substantive issues.
