The National Executive Committee (NEC) is a dynamic and dedicated group of elected representatives with a wealth of diverse experience. Working closely with our management team, the NEC ensures we meet our members’ needs with fair, effective and timely collective bargaining, representation, advocacy and training.

Meeting Minutes
As a democratic organization, we are accountable to the membership. In the interest of transparency, all meeting minutes are published on our website. Please note that minutes can only be published once approved by the NEC and translated; therefore, there can be some delay between the conclusion of a meeting and its minutes appearing online.

The right to observe
Further to Article 26.7 of CAPE’s Constitution, regular or pending members have the right to observe meetings of Association committees including National Executive Committee meetings, except under special circumstances as outlined in the Constitution and Bylaws. Members can also request minutes of such meetings, except when a committee declares a particular matter to be confidential.
Observers are restricted to attending the meetings and to listening to the discussions. They cannot actively participate in any discussion and cannot vote or take part in decision making.
Members who wish to observe a CAPE meeting should reach out to the Office of the President to make arrangements at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting’s time and date they wish to observe.
