Each year, Canadians wear pink on the last Wednesday in February to take a stand against bullying. CAPE invites all its members to don a pink shirt on February 28 and show their support for a harassment-free society.

As the second anniversary of the launch of the Phoenix pay system approaches, 17 unions representing over 225,000 federal public service workers have sent a joint letter of demands to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The unions are asking the Prime Minister to deliver a plan to work with federal government employees to rebuild a pay roll system that will pay them accurately and on time – every time.

Treasury Board cancelled the meeting just two days before the scheduled date.

Wednesday night, members of the Standing Senate Committee on National Finance heard from CAPE and other public service unions about public servants’ experiences with the Phoenix pay system.

CAPE has now filed a complaint to the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board to contest the employer’s clear violation of the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Act.
