Position summary
The accessibility and administrative coordinator is a combined role, encompassing the responsibilities of both accessibility coordinator and administrative assistant to the president. The coordinator, in their accessibility functions, will evaluate the CAPE’s accessibility and inclusiveness not only to comply with regulations but also to contribute to a more inclusive working environment. The incumbent will oversee the development of universally accessible documents, forms, and policies, as well as templates for broader use by the association. The incumbent will coordinate and contribute to the design of accessible CAPE products and services. With the combined knowledge, technical expertise, and interpersonal skills, the accessibility and administrative coordinator will recommend policy and procedure changes in consultation with stakeholders. Lastly, approaching situations with empathy, sensitivity, and a commitment to finding reasonable solutions that balance the needs of the requestor and the organization is expected by the incumbent.
In their administrative functions, the coordinator will work alongside the executive assistant to the president to provide dedicated administrative support to meet the ongoing needs of the president’s office.
