The Canadian Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) invites members to submit resolutions for consideration by the membership this fall.
Resolutions may focus on CAPE’s policies and practices. As outlined in CAPE’s bylaws, a group of 10 members or a local may submit resolutions to be voted on by the membership following the annual general meeting. Resolutions may not amend the constitution or bylaws, or address matters related to collective bargaining. (Article 17 of the Bylaws)
Note that the resolutions must comply with Bylaws 3.37 and3.38. Detailed information on submitting resolutions, including elements that a resolution must include, a template form for writing your own resolution, and guidance about the various types of resolutions that may be submitted, is available here.
More information about member resolutions can also be found in CAPE’s Constitution and Bylaws.
Resolutions will be reviewed by the Elections and Resolutions Committee and, if deemed admissible in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws , will be put to the membership for a vote.
Resolutions must be submitted to CCR-ERC2025@acep-cape.ca
Don’t delay! The deadline is Monday, August 18, 2025. Resolutions must be received at least 90 days before the association’s annual general meeting on November 16, 2025.
