National Capital Region locals

CAPE has many locals that represent the various government departments and agencies within the National Capital Region, where most of our members work.

Locals enable members to mobilize and form a community. CAPE locals are the backbone of the union. They serve as a link between members in the workplace, the National Office and the National Executive Committee, and are mandated to defend members’ rights and interests through organization, advocacy, and consultation.

Please note: While most locals have an identification number, some may not.

Join a local!

  • If you want to join a local, contact your local representative (see links above) or contact Julie Courty, Local Liaison Officer.
  • If there is no local in your region or department and you wish to create one, contact Julie Courty, Local Liaison Officer.
  • You can also become a steward, and this way you automatically become part of your local and play an active role in protecting and advancing the interests of all CAPE members.
