Announcing new role to support Locals

In 2021, CAPE’s President, National Executive Committee, and Management Team committed to dedicating more efforts to better support Locals as part of the strategic priorities defined during the joint  NEC strategic workshop of September 2021.

We are excited to announce that we have created and filled a brand-new position entirely dedicated to guiding and supporting Locals as they seek to strengthen their ability to carry out their mandate.

The new Local Liaison Officer will help support Locals in their activities, coordinating with their respective Labour Relations Officers, the President’s office, and other parts of the organization to make sure they receive all the assistance and information they need to fulfill their responsibilities. We hope this specialized role will be a game changer for Locals and Local Leaders.

Some of you may be familiar with the successful candidate - Julie Courty - who has worked at CAPE for 16 years, almost five years of which she spent in the President’s office and as Secretary to the National Executive Committee (NEC). As such, Julie has tremendous experience and knowledge of CAPE and of Locals bringing great value to the role.

As always, for any questions or comments, including for the new Local Liaison Officer, please direct them to general@acep-cape.ca so that we can triage them to the right person(s) and backups when people are away.
