Ottawa, October 17, 2025– Members of the Canadian Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) belonging to CAPE’s Bargaining Unit at the OPBO, have voted in favour of ratifying the tentative agreement that was reached with the OPBO in September 2025.
The tentative agreement was ratified by a majority of members. Approximately 20 CAPE members belong to its OPBO Bargaining Unit and stand to benefit from the new agreement.
“I want to thank our negotiations and research staff for their work and every member who participated in this bargaining process,” said CAPE President Nathan Prier. “Your efforts ensured that we could secure some new wins in this agreement. Improving your workplace is an ongoing and collective endeavour, but this is an important step forward.”
The new agreement covers a new leave for Traditional Indigenous Practices and wage parity with the EC classifications, as well as a signing bonus.
