** Mandate: January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2026 **
We are looking for passionate members who are ready to run for vacant positions on CAPE’s National Executive Committee (NEC). As the term of office of the current NEC members runs until December 31, 2026, the individuals elected in this by-election will serve until that date.
The vacant positions on the NEC up for election are as follows:
- 1 EC director seat
- 1 TR director seat
- 1 OPBO director seat
Some NEC responsibilities
The NEC as a whole is responsible for establishing association objectives, policies and guidelines. The committee may propose, amend, or rescind by-laws, subject to membership approval (art. 6 of CAPE’s constitution).
NEC directors are required to attend annual general meetings and monthly NEC meetings. As members of various association subcommittees, they perform duties as assigned by the NEC (art. 11 of the constitution).
NEC director positions are voluntary (unpaid). Members are compensated if the performance of their association duties requires them to take leave from their substantive work position.
