As we approach collective bargaining in 2026, this educational session will provide CAPE members with timely context on how workers and unions build power through organizing and collective action to advance members’ interests at the bargaining table.
The session will feature Dr. Barry Eidlin, Associate Professor of Sociology at McGill University and a comparative-historical sociologist specializing in labour, inequality, and institutional change.
Drawing on both his academic research and prior experience as a union organizer, Dr. Eidlin will examine the role of organizing in shaping bargaining outcomes and broader social change. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, offering members the opportunity to engage with the material, ask questions, and reflect on its relevance to upcoming bargaining for CAPE members.
