Please find below important information and results for the EC, TR, and OPBO by-elections for director positions on CAPE’s National Executive Committee.
EC Director By-election – Results
The results for the vacant EC Director position were delayed until December 11. The Elections and Resolutions Committee (ERC) determined that the voting period had to be extended for ESS members only, due to a glitch that prevented RCMP civilian members in the ESS classification from voting.
Please note that ESS is an occupational group used within the RCMP for civilian personnel.
As these members are represented by EC Directors, the ERC concluded that extending the voting period was necessary to ensure fairness and uphold their right to vote. The votes already cast by EC members remained securely sealed.
The extended voting period for ESS members ran from December 3 at 9 a.m. ET to December 11 at 4 p.m. ET. Once voting was complete, all ballots were combined, and the final certified results were announced on December 11.
