Graphic/Video Designer and Editor Contractor

CAPE is looking for a temporary freelance graphic designer and video editor to:

  • Support campaign, member engagement, and rapid-response digital and communications work.
  • Apply CAPE’s visual identity, campaign branding, accessibility standards, and design direction consistently across materials and online assets.
  • Adapt designs into multiple formats and sizes for different platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, email, web, and print.

This work may include quick-turnaround projects and rush assignments for social media, email, web, print, video, and event materials. We’re looking for people who can help create clear, compelling, bilingual-ready visuals that support organizing, member education, and public-facing campaigns.


Compensation:

$50-60/hr at 15hrs/week until Dec 15th, 2026. Compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Interviews week of August 10th

Roles and Responsibilities:

Graphic design

  • Design graphics for social media, email, ads, web, events, campaigns, and member-facing materials.
  • Prepare bilingual-ready or bilingual layouts in English and French with provided copy.


Video editing

  • Edit short-form videos for social media, email, web, campaign launches, member updates, and public-facing communications.
  • Cut raw footage into clear, engaging, platform-ready videos.
  • Add titles, lower thirds, text overlays, motion graphics, transitions, music, logos, calls to action, and other visual elements as needed.
  • Create short clips from longer videos, meetings, interviews, speeches, events, or recorded remarks.
  • Ensure videos are polished, accessible, on-brand, and optimized for digital engagement.
  • Add, edit, prepare, and sync subtitles/captions for videos with accuracy, clarity, spelling, timing, and readability.


Fast-turnaround and rapid-response work

  • Be able to complete some assignments and revisions within short turnaround windows, including approximately 1 to 3 hours depending on project scope. If this level of turnaround may be required within a certain project or push, CAPE will provide advance notice.
  • Manage multiple quick edits or format changes under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality based on feedback from CAPE staff.


Collaboration and communication

  • Join and monitor a designated Microsoft Teams channel for project assignments, updates, feedback, file sharing, and coordination during set hours.
  • Respond to assignment requests, questions, and revision notes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in brief check-ins or planning conversations as needed.
  • Keep project files organized and share working files, exports, and source files when requested.
  • Track time and deliverables accurately for invoicing and project management purposes.

This is a service contract offered to an independent contractor. No employment relationship is created between ACEP and the selected candidate.
