Update _rcmp _2018

As you may know, the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board (FPSLREB) determined that civilian members in the Economics, Social, Research (SP-ESS) and Interpreter/Translator (SP-TRL) groups were appropriately represented within, respectively, to the Economics and Social Science Services Group (EC) and the Translation Group (TR) of the Canadian Association of Professional Employees (CAPE).  Because of this decision, CAPE is now your official bargaining agent and can represent you in appeals and grievance dispute resolution processes at the RCMP.

In order for CAPE to comply with its legal obligations to represent its members, the employer must disclose the home addresses and telephone numbers for all employees in the bargaining unit to their bargaining agent.

The process and requirements in handling the information are outlined in an order from the FPSLREB (2009PSLRB59) providing for appropriate privacy and security safeguards of the information. It is in every employee’s interest to proactively provide CAPE with his or her current contact information and to advise the union of any changes that may occur in the future. To officially join CAPE, simply complete the online membership application form.

Also, please be advised that the employer will commence deducting union dues on a monthly basis in the amount of $48.00 as of September 2018.
