Opposition to Bill C-377 is mounting in the Senate

April 18, 2013 It seems that an opposition to the adoption of Bill C-377, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (requirements for labour organizations), is currently mounting in the Senate. In February, Conservative Senator Hugh Segal spoke against the Bill and, on April 16, it was the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, the Liberal James Cowan, to question this legislation. The April 13 edition of the National Post is well documented on this issue.
If you wish to learn more about this Bill, visit the Canadian Labour Congress website and read their Submission to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance.
If you wish to make your voice heard, you can sign the petition on change.org that is sponsored by NDP MP Alexandre Boulerice. You can also contact your Senator by going on the Parliament of Canada website.
