New attack by the Government against your rights

October 24, 2013

The Conservative Government has tabled its Budget implementation Bill. We already know that this Bill will aim at weakening the negotiation process in the public service, will give to the private sector the task of conducting the comparative compensation studies for the federal public sector, will modify the grievance and arbitration processes and will attack the rights of employees who are facing health and safety issues in the workplace.

CAPE and the other 17 public service bargaining agents will fight this legislation which aims at changing the balance of power between unions and the government by bending the rules in its favour. Union leaders will meet on Tuesday, October 28, to come up with a common action plan.
