CAPE Membership Approves Proposed Constitution and By-LawAmendments and Votes Yes on Financial Ballot

December 17, 2012

The CAPE membership voted in favour of the two proposed budgets (2012 – 2013 and 2014 – 2014), the audited financial statements and the National Executive Committee’s recommendation that the firm of WGP C.A. be the Association’s auditor for the fiscal year ending 2013.

Given the pending shortfall in Association funds outlined in the approved budget, the National Executive Committee, Finance Committee and CAPE management must now continue their close examination of the Association’s financial realities.“We have a functional approved budget,” said CAPE President Claude Poirier.“Now we can focus our energies on analysing the various fiscal scenarios regarding an acceptable dues increase that will place the Association in a financially viable position.”

CAPE members also voted in favour of a proposed Constitution amendment, which serves to clarify the clause regarding Financial Controls and signing authority. Likewise they approved a proposed By-Laws amendment that outlines and clarifies the process of dealing with complaints filed with the National Executive Committee.
