CAPE Has Filed a Third Policy Grievance Regarding Treasury Board’s Administration of the Workforce Adjustment Directive

July 09, 2012

After having filed two policy grievances at the end of June, CAPE has filed a third policy grievance on July 6, this time regarding the interpretation by Treasury Board of the notion of “years of service”. According to CAPE, by interpreting years of service as continuous rather than cumulative, Treasury Board commits a serious violation of the Work Force Adjustment Directive (WFAD) and the collective agreement.

This time again, as in any other situation where CAPE has determined that the rights of its members have been violated or negatively impacted by the employer’s violation of the provisions of the WFAD, CAPE will be providing representation to members who wish to file an individual grievance.
