Pensions Appeal Update
January 07, 2009
The NJC Bargaining Agents Side will be addressing the issue of lead litigator at a meeting scheduled for January 14, 2009. There are two very skilled candidates proposed by different bargaining agents. However, a number of issues need to be resolved before a choice can be made.
The estimated cost for appealing to the Ontario Court of Appeal and then to the Supreme Court of Canada, is approximately $1.0 Million. Please note that whatever option is agreed to collectively, the NJC BAS cost sharing formula will apply for each Bargaining Agent participating in the Appeal.
