Letter to the Local Leadership from the Chair of the Finance Committee regarding the Association's budget.

Dear Sir or Madam:

On behalf of the Finance Committee, I would like to invite you to the annual meeting of the Local Leadership regarding the Association’s budget. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 5:30 p.m..

The purpose of the meeting, as mandated by the By-laws, is to discuss members’ priorities in order to assist the Finance Committee in preparing the Association’s budgets for 2007-2008 and 2008-2009. The members of the Committee will be in attendance to receive your comments.

Herewith included is the notice of the meeting, an explanatory note on actions taken in response to Local Leadership recommendations in 2006, a table setting out revenue and expenditure for the financial year ending July 31, 2006, a statement of revenue and expenditure reviewed and approved by the Finance Committee at its meeting in May 2007, and explanatory notes accompanying the latter table.

The participation of the Local Leadership is a key element in our budget preparation process. It gives the Finance Committee a better understanding of how the Association’s priorities are to be adjusted from year to year, in order to better to serve its members.
