CAPE PEI Hosts President

October 03, 2007 Prince Edward Island Local 102 Executive was pleased to host President Jose Aggrey at its fall supper Thursday, September 20, 2007. The supper was held at the city restaurant St. James Gate and was attended by 10 members representing Veterans Affairs Canada, Service Canada and Corrections Service Canada.
The meeting began with a meet and greet where arriving members were introduced to President Aggrey and Local 102 Executive. The meeting continued through the supper as an open forum providing members with the opportunity to raise their issues and questions with the President and Local Executive. The main topics of discussion were the state of EC negotiations, reasons for the delay with the Advanced Personal Notification (APN), impacts of the proposed constitutional changes proposed by the Governance Review Council (GRC) and the proposed role of Atlantic Forum (which was held Friday in Memrancook, New Brunswick).
Members expressed their support for the supper meeting as it provided them with a more relaxed atmosphere without the time constraints of a lunch meeting to discuss union issues and to get to know other members of their Local.
The President and Executive of PEI Local 102 would like to thank President Aggrey and Local members for attending and we look forward to next year's fall meeting.
