CAPE Members Vote Yes to $12.00 Dues Increase.

December 15, 2005

CAPE members voted “Yes” to the proposed $12.00 dues increase, in a ballot counted on December 15th. The results are as follows:

Yes: 80%
No: 20%

“This increase will allow us to continue to provide the top notch services and support that members have come to expect of CAPE,” said CAPE President José Aggrey.“This has been a long and arduous process, and has consumed a vast amount of the National Executive Committee’s and Local Leaderships’ energies. Now we can redirect that enormous energy to building and strengthening our Assocation.”

While memories of the founding organizations still linger, members have demonstrated with their strong support of the dues increase proposal that there is a new found identify with CAPE, rooted in pride, commitment and recognition of the contribution to the collective good of all CAPE communities.

Treasury Board will be advised of the increase in dues, and will implement the change within the next few months.

Results of the other matters upon which members were asked to vote will be posted as they become available. These include the approval of the Financial Statements and Budget, the By-Law #5 amendment, the Constitutional amendment and the Election of four EC Directors to the CAPE National Executive.
