EC Collective Bargaining Update – December 17, 2018January 08, 2019
The EC bargaining team and the Employer side bargaining team met for three days of negotiations, December 11, 12 and 13. During the first day the parties agreed to use interest based bargaining in order to find potential solutions to the problems of retroactivity in a Phoenix world. During the second day the parties worked towards identifying the most important issues for each party at the table. While the third day focused mostly on CAPE’s pay proposal and the Employer’s initial position at the table. It should be anticipated that the parties will require a considerable amount of work to bridge the gap on the matter of pay.
The Employer canceled the three-day session scheduled for February but found alternative dates in March: March 6 and 7. A fourth day was added to the scheduled session in January.
