CAPE agrees to mediationDecember 22, 2016
Following the decision earlier this week by the EC bargaining to declare an impasse and go into binding conciliation, senior representatives of CAPE and Treasury Board had a telephone conversation today to explore how to resume the negotiation.
At the end of the conversation, it was agreed by both parties to use mediation as to get to a negotiated agreement. Key outstanding issues include economic adjustments and protection of the professional integrity of the members of the EC group. CAPE acknowledges that the Employer has made serious progress in the issue of sick leave and employee wellness in general, but wants to pursue talks on this subject with the employer.
As soon as we have further details to share, CAPE will inform its EC bargaining unit members.
