CAPE Translation Bureau Local Elections: Results of the call for candidates

September 30, 2003

Acclaimed: Stephen Mullen as anglophone translators representative (term ending 31 December 2005); Marc Grenon as regional TRs representative (term ending 31 December 2004); André Picotte as francophone translators representative (term ending 31 December 2005); Suzanne Dumas as francophone translators representative (term ending 31 December 2004); Marie-Thérèse Mocanu as terminologists representative (term ending 31 December 2004). Three positions were left unfilled: parliamentary translators representative, multilingual translators representative and EC employees representative. The new Executive will need to coopt people to fill these positions. Two positions will be put to a vote. Teresa Beauregard and Francine Roy are seeking the interpreters representatives position. Carol Card (CardC@parl.gc.ca) and Luc Gervais (Luc.H@Gervais@pwgsc.gc.ca) are vying for the presidency (a third candidacy had to be declared null and void for non-compliance with the Elections Chair instructions). CAPE's TR Vice-president is an ex-officio member of the Local Executive.

New information!

Francine Roy has let us know that she is withdrawing her candidacy. This information reached us after voting kits were mailed. Teresa Beauregard is thus acclaimed as Interpreters representative.
