TR Bargaining Still Going On
October 6, 2003
Parties are still talking at the TR collective agreement table. One 3-day block was held last week, while three other similar blocks are scheduled before the end of the year. As reported in a TR newsletter, since parties have adopted the interests-based bargaining approach there is no list of pre-established demands as in traditional bargaining. Rather, parties are looking analytically at all sections of the collective agreement they wish to revisit. These include annual and sick leave, hours of work, working regimes, professional issues, compensatory leave, various other types of leave, various pay issues (including pay increases), etc. At this point, it would be unwise to try and predict exactly when conditions will be met for an agreement to emerge from these discussions. The bargaining team is made up of Claude Danik, Suzanne Dumas, Marc Grenon, Marc Gourdeau, Marie-Thérèse Mocanu, André Picotte and Luc Pomerleau, who heads the bargaining team as CAPE's TR Vice-President.
