It is understood that the right to impose these production objectives carries with it the requirement to explain and justify these objectives and to foster good work. As well, the established objectives must be attainable, and may be the subject of a challenge – notably in relation to the particular billing and production conditions that exist in certain areas.
We must also be aware that signing the objectives signifies only that the individual is aware of the objectives – signing does not prevent the individual from challenging the objectives, now, or later, if conditions change. To further protect the individual’s right to grieve, a brief note such as “Without prejudice to my right to file a grievance” may be added when signing the objectives. Recourse must be undertaken individually, and the Association is here to advise, guide and assist members, and protect their rights.
