Ratification Vote Information / the Proposed TR Collective Agreement

The following explanations are provided in response to questions regarding the hours of work provisions and the annual leave provisions of the proposed new TR collective agreement.
The tentative agreement includes five (5) additional days to the annual leave clause of the collective agreement. These five days may be taken at any time in a career. They are to be used as annual leave. They require no more explanation to the employer than annual leave. The addition of the five days of annual leave is a net gain to all TR employees.
The tentative agreement also includes new provisions to address the matter of the special translation service pilot project. The parties at the table agreed that the provisions of the existing collective agreement were not appropriate for the special project. Special provisions were added for this special translation service. It should be noted that the employer committed to hiring from outside the public service specifically for the project. Translators currently working for the Bureau may participate, but only if they volunteer.
