The Canadian Human Rights Commission Approves the Settlement Reached in CAPE’s TR complaint!

The Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC) advised the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal (CHRT) that they have approved the agreement reached as a result of CAPE’s complaint on behalf of TRs (see our April 2, 2009 article). The CHRT advised CAPE and the employer of the CHRC’s decision, on May 1, 2009.

The employer must now withdraw it’s request for judicial review filed with the Federal Court. Pursuant to the terms of the agreement, the affected members will receive their payments within the 45 day period following the CHRC’s approval of May 1.
