TRANSLATION BUREAU LOCAL 2007 ELECTION

September 12, 2007

In accordance with the Translation Bureau Local By-laws, an election is being held to fill the following five (5) positions on the Executive: President, Officer representing Anglophone Translators, Officer representing Interpreters (Parliamentary Interpretation and Conferences), Officer representing EC Employees and Officer representing Francophone Translators (the position currently held by André Picotte). The term of office is two years.

The position of President is open to all members of the Local, and all members have the right to vote. Other Officers are elected by the members they represent.

Members seeking election to one of these positions must submit a statement of five hundred (500 ) words or less by regular mail, postmarked no later than September 30, to the address below. The Local does not provide a translation of statements submitted in only one official language.

Should some positions require a vote be held, candidates will receive copy of their opponent(s)’ statement(s) and be invited to write a rebuttal (maximum 500 words). Candidates’ statements and rebuttals will be sent to members along with a ballot.
