TR Bargaining – December 4th, 5th and 6th Meetings with the Employer

CAPE’s TR bargaining team met on Monday December 3rd to prepare for the week’s bargaining session with the Employer.

At the end of the last bargaining session both parties agreed on a short list of problems which would be discussed at the next bargaining session.

Pursuant to the provisions of Paragraph B 7.1.1 (i) of By-law # 7, and on behalf of the National Executive Committee, this constitutes a call for volunteers from the membership of the TR bargaining unit for the purpose of establishing a Financial Incentive Plan (FIP) Collective Bargaining Committee.

TRANSLATION BUREAU LOCAL 2007 ELECTION
September 12, 2007
In accordance with the Translation Bureau Local By-laws, an election is being held to fill the following five (5) positions on the Executive: President, Officer representing Anglophone Translators, Officer representing Interpreters (Parliamentary Interpretation and Conferences), Officer representing EC Employees and Officer representing Francophone Translators (the position currently held by André Picotte). The term of office is two years.

TR Bargaining – August 15 and 16 Meetings with the Employer

CAPE’s TR bargaining team met with representatives of the employer’s bargaining team on August 15 and August 16. Because the employer and CAPE have agreed again in this round to use interest based bargaining at the TR table the parties did not exchange proposals.

The TR Collective Agreement: Bargaining Starts This Summer

Treasury Board and the Canadian Association of Professional Employees have agreed that the first round of negotiations for the new TR collective agreement will take place on August 15 and 16, 2007.

The TR bargaining committee continues to prepare for a first meeting with the employer which is expected some time in June. CAPE’s TR community has responded enthusiastically to the input questionnaire that it received in March.

CAPE, the Translation Bureau and Treasury Board have agreed to continue the Financial Incentive Plan for 2007-2008 with no changes.
