Library of Parliament Collective Bargaining Update

The CAPE Library of Parliament bargaining team met with the employer’s team on October 14 and 15 as well as on November 12, 13 and 14, 2008. Both parties negotiated non-monetary demands and have settled some of the issues.

Notwithstanding the final offers made by the Treasury Board last week to federal employee unions, your bargaining team met with the employer’s team on the morning of November 24 to hold further negotiations. We have agreed to resume negotiations in January 2009. Both parties expect to focus on monetary demands.
