CAPE regrets to inform you that the founding President of ESSA, Patrick Crosby, passed away July 16, 2004. ESSA (The Economist’s Sociologists and Statistician’s Association) was the predecessor of the Social Science Employees Association, which recently merged with The Canadian Union of Professional and Technical Employees, to for form CAPE.

Pat was the moving force behind the creation of ESSA. He was a popular and well respected Association President for many years. His dedication and contributions to the Association continued well into his retirement years, and will be greatly missed.
