Subjet : Call for Volunteers
This is a call for volunteers to participate on the 2006 Elections Committee. Members of the Elections Committee are not eligible to be candidates in the current election year for a position on the National Executive Committee (NEC) and shall not campaign in support of or against a candidate nor publicly divulge their opinion on a resolution.
The Elections Committee shall;
- organize and oversee all election and voting processes, with the exception of the ratification of tentative agreements;
- shall send a call for resolutions and nominations for candidates for the NEC normally in the month of April;
- ensure all nominations and campaign material conform to the Association’s By-laws;
- have the authority to reject late or improperly completed nomination forms and related campaign material;
- have the authority to count all ballots and to reject an improperly completed ballot;
- may refer campaign material or material in support of or against a resolution for distribution to the membership.
The Elections Committee normally meets six times during a voting process. Meetings are held over the lunch hour at the National Office and members are reimbursed expenses and salary, if necessary. If you are interested in participating please advise Donna Martin by sending an e-mail to her at
