Erratum

September 19, 2006

It has been brought to our attention that an error appears in the document produced by CAPE to describe changes to the new EC collective agreement. The description of changes to the inmate custodial allowance includes a proposal that was not accepted by the employer. This proposal was to change the nature of the allowance in order to provide the allowance to EC employees at Correctional Services Canada who are at risk rather than only to those who have custody of an inmate. In other words the following sentence should have been deleted from the final draft: “The allowance has been redefined in terms of risk rather than custody of inmates”. The allowance in the agreement is the same as the one found in other public service agreements. The proposal to change the definition will be presented again next spring when CAPE returns to the table for its EC members.

The new EC collective agreement can be found on the Treasury Board web site at: www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/pubs_pol/hrpubs/coll_agre/ec/ec_e.asp
